BALAM received accolades for its second residency workshop
and performance, Discover the Splendors of Spain, presented at Hunter Elementary
School in Hunter, New York in July.
Twenty children, ages 4-11, experienced a diversity of Spanish dance styles. They performed the courtly Pavana with live music, as well as the Sevillanas and Escuela Bolera dances. They were intrigued with the lesson about the bullfight and enjoyed the bilingual songs performed by BALAM’s host, Inma Heredia.
